Dr Mark Sykes is registered psychologist who focuses on three specialist areas:

1. Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) & Hoarding

2. Anxiety

3. Relationship counselling

Professional background

Dr Sykes has been in private practice since 2005 and has been a lecturer and Research Fellow at Griffith University. His professional background includes lecturing at QUT (Business), Griffith University (Psychology) and Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (AIPC). Mark’s PhD focused on developing a leading edge treatment for an anxiety disorder (emetophobia). Dr Mark Sykes is the principal psychologist at Gecko House.

A standard fee of $160 per hour applies to all counselling sessions. Medicare and private health insurance rebates may apply. Bulk billing is available for valid Commonwealth concession holders. While most sessions are strictly one hour, the initial session for relationship counselling is two hours and then one hour thereafter.
